“Very Beginner Oil Painting: Starting Out Right” with Alex Sharma

If you have ever wanted to try to paint in oils but didn’t know how to start, this 1-day workshop will introduce you to classic oil painting and the methods used to put paint to canvas and get you on your creative path.  All the basics to get you started on an exciting journey are covered in this workshop: paints, brushes, surfaces to paint on (canvas, board etc.), color mixing, mediums, brushwork, palette knife use, and care of materials. All will be demonstrated and practiced. Come prepared to paint!  Bring your lunch or purchase nearby during a 30 minute lunch break.

Information handouts are included.  A $20 fee will cover all the materials to use in the workshop.  All paintings are yours to take home!

NOTE:
In addition to the registration fee, students should bring $20 cash to pay for use of supplies, all of which will be provided for you.

SKILL LEVEL:
This class requires zero experience. It is specifically designed for beginners!

REFUND POLICY:
Ticket purchases to Art League of Hilton Head events are final. Refunds will not be given for missed or classes/workshops.

If a class or workshop is canceled by Art League of Hilton Head a full refund will be given.

Instructor Bio:	Born into a family of artists, ALEXANDRA SHARMA learned early a unique awareness of form and space that is manifest in her work. A painter, print maker, sculptor, and art professor, Alexandra has a Fine Arts degree and has studied at the Sorbonne, France, and Oxford University, England. Her work spans over twenty-five years and she is known for unique visual imagery in her paintings and her ability to capture the moment as she works primarily en plein air.Alexandra is a founding member of the Multi Media Arts Guild, Kingston, Canada, and member of Hilton Head Art League, Apple Pie Painters, Northview Group of Artists, and a lifetime member of the American art honorary, Delta Phi Delta.Alexandra exhibits regularly at the Charles Street Gallery in Beaufort, SC and at ALHH Gallery.Visit Alex Sharma’s Website, AlexandraSharmaArt.com
