Tea and Torture in 1774

February 27 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

$10 – $12

This is a Semiquincentennial presentation.  While Boston had the first Tea Party the revelry surrounding tea extended down the Eastern Seaboard as far South as Charles Town.  The Pantheon of Revolutionary heroes the Sons of Liberty rat highly but these were not necessary always gentlemen but practitioners of arson, hanging in effigy, and tarring and feathering (in particularly gruesome action).  Learn about how it was not just as simple as dumping tea.

Presenter is Lee J. Wilwerding of Heritage Library

Location is USCB Hilton Head Island Campus, Room 115

Cost is $10 for Library members and $12 for non-members.
