“Pen & Ink 101” with Don & Joyce Nagel

NOTE: Those in the October/November drawing class with the Nagels are welcome and encouraged to continue on to this 2 Half-day workshop and learn all about the beautiful medium of Pen & Ink.

Join Art League instructors Don & Joyce Nagel for this exciting 2 Half-Day Workshop for anyone wanting to learn about the beautiful and exciting medium of Pen & Ink. This is a perfect continuance for those taking the 5-Week, drawing course with the Nagels finishing earlier in the month.

In this workshop, students will learn the patterns to produce line value drawings with pen and ink. There will be printed instruction, demonstrations and a lot of individual one-on-one instruction.

SKILL LEVEL:
This course is designed for beginner students, or students with experiencing wanting to fine-tune or brush-up their knowledge of the medium.

REFUND POLICY:
Ticket purchases to Art League of Hilton Head events are final. Refunds will not be given for missed or classes/workshops.

If a class or workshop is canceled by Art League of Hilton Head a full refund will be given.

Instructors:	Don & Joyce Nagel
Instructors Bios:	DON NAGEL was born in Pittsburgh, PA. He received a BS from the Rochester Institute of Technology and an MA in printmaking from Wayne State University. He worked in Pittsburgh and Detroit for 30 years in major advertising agencies as a senior art director. Don and Joyce moved to Hilton Head Island in 1986. He was a freelance graphic designer until he decided to devote himself to painting and teaching. Currently, Don and Joyce teach weekly classes at the Art League Academy in drawing, pen & ink, design, and landscape. They have teamed up to do pastel workshops in France, Italy, Africa and US. He is an Associate Member of The Pastel Society of America, and a Member of Excellence in the Southeastern Pastel Society and has received awards from regional and national pastel societies. He is a partner at La Petite Gallery in Bluffton, where his pastel work is exhibited. JOYCE NAGEL was born in Buffalo, NY. She received a BS in advertising design from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MA in printmaking from Wayne State University. She is a Member of Excellence in the Southeastern Pastel Society and a Master Pastelist of the Pastel Society of America. She has received many awards from regional and national pastel societies. Most recently Joyce won Best of Show for her oil at Art League of Hilton Head’s 2015 Biennale Exhibition. Currently, Joyce and her husband Don, teach weekly classes at the Art League Academy in drawing, design and landscape in the medium of your choice. They have teamed up to do pastel workshops in France, Italy, Africa and throughout the US. She is a partner of the Maye River Gallery in Bluffton, SC, exhibiting her work in pastel, oil and acrylic.
