Painting with Passion in Oils or Acrylics

Art League Academy will host a three-day workshop, Painting with Passion in Oils or Acrylics, led by award-winning artist and instructor Eric Jacobsen. The workshop will take place Tuesday through Thursday, February 24–26, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at Art League Academy, located at 106 Cordillo Parkway, Hilton Head Island, SC.

Designed for artists of all levels—from beginners to advanced painters—this immersive workshop will focus on creating expressive landscapes while strengthening foundational painting skills. Participants will explore key topics including composition, value, design, choosing a motif, identifying and mixing accurate warm and cool colors, establishing a focal point, and practical tips and techniques for landscape painting.

The workshop will feature informal lectures, instructor demonstrations, group critiques, and individualized instruction. “Eric Jacobsen brings a wealth of experience and a passion for helping artists find their own expressive voice,” said Academy Manager, Amy Wehrman-Jones. “This workshop is a wonderful opportunity for students to loosen up their style and gain confidence in their painting process.”

Jacobsen, known for his evocative landscapes and engaging teaching style, will guide participants through both technical and creative aspects of painting in oils or acrylics. The workshop promises a supportive and inspiring environment for artistic growth.
