Open Mic “Hello, Hilton Head: Shall we go for a swim or open mic?

May 29, 2024 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free

We who write have something to say. We have voices that need to escape from captivity and be heard. And if you haven’t heard Open Mic’s upcoming Featured Reader, Miho Kinnas, release her voice, you’ve missed plenty.

Her voice has found its path with skill and the appreciation of many.  She is the author of three collections and one collaboration work of poetry. Her poems have been included in numerous anthologies, including Best American Poetry 2023; Soul Spaces, Cities, Towns and Villages; Blue and Gray: Era of Exile; Tenth Anniversary issue of

Cha Asian Literary Journal; and Quixotica: Poems East of La Mancha among others.

Miho is a writer, translator, poet and when she’s not writing, she’s swimming—her favorite activity.

At the very least then, you need to mark your calendar to hear our amazing Featured Reader on May 29, 6 PM, at Tio’s on Hilton Head Island. (But order your margarita by 5:30!)

And as long as you’re going to be there, and you are obviously also a writer, you also must reach out to Ky Zubatsky at kubatsky@gmail.com ASAP and tell her you plan to release your own voice by reading that evening! It’s not overly taxing, because your comments and reading will be limited to five minutes—a simple task but important–because we all need to hear you, too!! And it will be our last IWN Open Mic until September, so you don’t want to miss it!
