LLHHI – Land Trust Treasures of Hilton Head Island

This seminar will focus on two projects of the Hilton Head Land Trust seeking to further preserve and protect our heritage:
1. The ecological treasures of the Whooping Crane Conservatory and the new webcam that offers the live streaming eagle nesting activity of Harriet (Tubman) and Mitch (General Mitchel).
2. Fort Howell. the best-preserved earthen fort structure dating back to the Civil War.
The fort, constructed by the 132nd Colored Troop Infantry, was built by the Union
forces to protect the Freedman Village of Mitchelville.
