Broad Creek Oyster Reef Build

Join The Outside Foundation and the SC Department of Natural Resources on Thursday, May 12th to help place bags of recycled oyster shell to create a new reef in the Broad Creek. Volunteers should meet at the Cross Island Boat Landing at 9:30am on the 12th. Be prepared to get muddy – wear old clothes, sun protection gear, and boots. Please bring a water bottle. Extra water and gloves will be provided. Volunteers will help transfer the shell bags onto boats and then the shell bags and volunteers will take a short ride to the shoreline near Long Cove for the build. The program will end by 1:30pm.
