Art at the Island Recreation Center

June 2 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 8:00 am, repeating until July 1, 2024

Free

Addy has been coming to the lowcountry since infancy and has lived here full time since January of 2023.  The various plastic caps, tops, and lids used in this project have been collected over several months with no specific project in mind, other than to create art that is eye catching, thought provoking, and informative.  This collection is nature based, which is ironic when we acknowledge the impact of plastic on our environment.  A rainbow curtain, a Broad Tailed Gecko, a ladybug, a dragonfly, and a flower all made with plastic tops that would otherwise have gone to a landfill.  The paintings of the poison dart frogs, Lna moth, Atlas moth, the Death’s Head Hawk Moth, and the Picasso Moth are all done in acrylics.

This exhibit at the Island Recreation Center is on display until the first week of July.
