“Acrylics or Oil: Making Your Mark with Palette Knife and Impasto Texture with Alex Sharma

April 3, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$100.00

2 HALF-DAYS
Thursday & Friday (1 to 4pm)
April 3, 4, 2025

This is your opportunity to learn how to use various shape palette knives and a paint-loaded brush to obtain texture and glassy smoothness in your paintings. Be prepared to paint along with Alex as she demonstrates palette knife and sgraffito techniques for various subjects: sky, water, trees, flowers and marsh.

The first day focus will be to practice mixing and layering and getting comfortable using the palette knife to really get your shapes and forms to come to life.

During day two, we will paint from life in the studio and from your reference photos or your imagination. The objective is to capture the spirit of the composition’s colors and textures through simple use of palette knife and loaded brush.

We will have a 30-minute break for lunch, bring your lunch or grab something quick from a nearby cafe.
