Jackson Evans joins forces with The Eric Jones Trio for an evening of inspired jazz featuring special guest saxophonist Stutz Wimmer. Known for his smooth tone, rhythmic energy, and inventive approach to the jazz tradition, Jackson Evans brings his signature style to a powerhouse ensemble of acclaimed Lowcountry musicians.
Together, this exceptional group delivers an evening of dynamic interplay, swinging rhythms, and sophisticated improvisation, blending deep jazz tradition with fresh musical spontaneity. From hard-swinging standards to inventive modern interpretations, audiences can expect an energetic and engaging performance from some of the region’s most respected jazz artists.
Evans is a celebrated guitarist and a cornerstone of the Lowcountry jazz scene. Whether performing solo, alongside bassist and vocalist Maggie Evans, or collaborating with ensembles including the Jody Espina Trio, the Martin Lesch Band, and Velvet Caravan, Jackson brings energy, sophistication, and unmistakable personality to every performance. His playing draws deeply from classic jazz influences while embracing a fresh individuality shaped by a wide range of musical styles.
Originally from Logan, Utah, Jackson earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Utah State University before relocating to Savannah, Georgia with Maggie Evans in 2004. Since then, the duo has become a defining presence in the Southeast jazz community and internationally, including acclaimed residencies in Hangzhou, China, highlighted by a six-month engagement at the prestigious JZ Club.
Beyond the stage, Jackson is deeply committed to jazz education and mentorship. He maintains a private teaching studio, has presented at the Jazz Education Network Conference in New Orleans, serves on the faculty of the Hilton Head Jazz Camp, and sits on the board of directors for The Junior Jazz Foundation. He also serves in multiple leadership roles with Benedetto Guitars, helping support one of the most respected names in jazz guitar craftsmanship.
With technical mastery, infectious musicality, and a lifelong dedication to the art form, Jackson Evans continues to elevate the Lowcountry jazz landscape as both performer and educator.
