Community Picnic & 360/40 Events

The Town of Hilton Head Island is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its incorporation and the 360th anniversary of Captain William Hilton’s sighting of the island in 2023. Lots of great events and activities are planned between 8/26 and 9/16 to honor our community’s history and unique stories. More information coming soon!
August 26
- Free community picnic at Lowcountry Celebration Park from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
- Food: Traditional picnic fare (hot dogs, hamburgers, sides, and non-alcoholic beverages) available at no charge.
- Additional beverages: Beer trucks – available for purchase.
- Fun & games for all ages: Cappy the Clown (face painting, animal balloons), Pitch the ball, Bungee Jump, Rock Climbing, Melt Down Obstacle Course, Train, Bounce Houses (for small kids and older kids), Games (Bowling Ball, Ax Throwing, Corn Hole, Toss Game).
- Music: Short sets by well-known and beloved local musicians highlighting various segments of our community.
- Display booths: Local, not for profit, educational and community focused organizations.
August 27 – September 15
- Series of unique/one-of-a-kind tours and experiences designed for this 360/40 celebration. More information soon!
September 14 – 16
- BMI Music Festival – Hilton Head Island Jam
- Over 15 singer song-writer events at various indoor and outdoor venues on September 14, 15 and 16.
September 16
Finale Free Concert at Lowcountry Celebration Park on September 16 at 7:00 pm. More information soon!
