DESCRIPTION:3Visions 3Voices at Art League this Fall \nJoint exhibit features the works of LouAnne Barrett\, Steve Edelstein\, and Kelly Richard \n  \nLocal artists LouAnne Barrett\, Steve Edelstein\, and Kelly Richard use painting\, photography\, and sculpture\, respectively\, to interpret the unique beauty of Low Country birds such as egrets\, herons\, and pelicans\, as well as other local wildlife. \n  \nBarrett\, a lifelong artist\, works with various media such as watercolor\, acrylic\, oil\, pastel\, and multi-media to create her works.  Prior to moving to the Low Country\, she was an Interior Designer and taught design at the local college in southern California.  She taught Art for 18 years in Hilton Head. Currently\, she still enjoys teaching youth and adult classes at various local locations.  Her work resides in several locations as far north as Maine and south as the tip of Florida and the West Coast. \n  \nEdelstein is a former lawyer and lifelong photographer who started focusing mainly on photographing birds after moving to Hilton Head from Atlanta. He has exhibited in Atlanta\, California\, Massachusetts\, Florida\, and the Lowcountry. \n  \nRichard has spent her entire career in the arts\, whether as an illustrator\, graphic designer\, gallery owner\, or sculptor. She operated her own graphic design firm in Washington\, DC\, and owned several galleries in Maryland\, including the nationally recognized American Craftworks Collection. While living in Annapolis\, she developed her appreciation for local birds and wildlife. She retired to Hilton Head ten years ago\, where she dedicates much of her time to sculpting. \n  \n3Visions 3Voices will be held September 17-October 18. An opening reception will be held Wednesday\, September 18\, 5-7pm. DESCRIPTION:This Fall\, Vibrant Landscapes Paintings on Show at Art League \nCarol Iglesias to exhibit her plein air paintings \n  \nCarol Iglesias\, an oil and pastel plein air impressionist\, will be exhibiting her work in Colors of the Lowcountry & Beyond at Art League of Hilton Head this Fall. Iglesias\, who is a founding member of the Hilton Head Island Plein Air Painters\, has won awards at SOBA\, Art League\, the Maryland Pastel Society\, and the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. She won a prestigious artist residency in Diana\, France\, and her work has been exhibited there. Her work has also been featured in numerous publications including Carolina Arts and American Art Collector. \n  \nIglesias’ work features strong\, energetic compositional elements. She is passionate about painting brilliant color and capturing her emotional response to a location in every painting. “Working outside allows me to study all the constantly changing subtleties of colors\, shadows\, light\, and provides valuable insight and sensitivity while I am painting\,” she says. “Once inspired\, I try to capture the color\, light and energy as quickly as I can.” \n  \nColors of the Lowcountry & Beyond is a collection of Lowcountry plein air paintings that Iglesias has completed over the past year and a half. DESCRIPTION:This Fall\, Vibrant Landscapes Paintings on Show at Art League \nCarol Iglesias to exhibit her plein air paintings \n  \nCarol Iglesias\, an oil and pastel plein air impressionist\, will be exhibiting her work in Colors of the Lowcountry & Beyond at Art League of Hilton Head this Fall. Iglesias\, who is a founding member of the Hilton Head Island Plein Air Painters\, has won awards at SOBA\, Art League\, the Maryland Pastel Society\, and the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. She won a prestigious artist residency in Diana\, France\, and her work has been exhibited there. Her work has also been featured in numerous publications including Carolina Arts and American Art Collector. \n  \nIglesias’ work features strong\, energetic compositional elements. She is passionate about painting brilliant color and capturing her emotional response to a location in every painting. “Working outside allows me to study all the constantly changing subtleties of colors\, shadows\, light\, and provides valuable insight and sensitivity while I am painting\,” she says. “Once inspired\, I try to capture the color\, light and energy as quickly as I can.” \n  \nColors of the Lowcountry & Beyond is a collection of Lowcountry plein air paintings that Iglesias has completed over the past year and a half. The exhibit will be on display October 22 through November 22. An opening reception will be held Wednesday\, October 23\, 5-7pm. Iglesias will also host a Gallery Talk on Friday\, November 1\, at 12pm\, where she will discuss her work\, influences\, and processes.
