He was exposed to a wide array of musical influences from a young age but always harbored a deep affection for jazz. After studying with Richard Sorce at NYU through his teens\, he graduated high school early to study at Berklee College of Music before settling back down in New York.\nLured by a ripe music scene for working players\, he transplanted to the Southeast where he currently resides on Hilton Head Island\, SC. After touring and releasing Cd’s with his own band for five years\, he took to producing\, musical directing and accompanying various regional and national acts including a long stint with singer/songwriter Angie Aparo\, for whom his work was widely acclaimed.\nAfter an encounter with one of the southeast’s iconic jazz figures\, Bob Masteller\, Lesch was hired to become a regular player at his club\, The Jazz Corner\, which has now become one of the most regarded venues for jazz musicians in the world. While doing this\, Lesch has still found time to be a featured player on various cruise lines and tours\, including a residency in China with guitarist Jackson Evans where they played their exciting brand of jazz to sold out audiences for 90 straight days.\nHe performs regularly at The Jazz Corner\, including his popular weekly Journey Through Jazz series where Lesch performs a history of jazz retrospective featuring everything from stride to modern piano technique. Bob has been a major force on the musical scene of the Low Country since 1973. In the period between ’73 and ’80\, while a Senior Vice President of The Sea Pines Company\, Bob played in a group called Jazz Reborn\, which included early Hilton Head islanders Mark Stuppy and Garry Moore\, the legendary entertainer. During this period Bob became well known in Savannah as the trombonist with The River Street Ramblers\, which included Savannah musical legends Sam Gill and Ken Palmer.\nIn the 1980’s\, Bob headed up various groups with different styles\, including New Orleans\, straight ahead jazz\, and mood music. He has appeared at virtually every mainstream location for swing and jazz in the Low Country\, including all major hotels\, Hannah’s East\, The Golden Rose\, Self Family Arts Center\, USC Performing Arts Center and the Original Old Post Office on Pope Avenue.\nIncluded in the highlights of Bob’s career\, he has performed for Presidents Clinton\, Ford and Bush and Senator Bobby Kennedy. Also in hi background was a 26-week stint at Sweet Georgia Brown in Savannah during the key moments that went into the makeup of “The Garden of Good and Evil”.\nFor the past sixteen years Masteller concentrated on his lifelong dream\, The Jazz Corner. A pianist\, vocalist\, writer\, arranger and educator\, Noel has been the leader of his own group since 1991.\nAs the leader of the Noel Freidline Quintet for the last 26 years\, Freidline has recorded 8 CDs\, performed at jazz festivals as diverse as the Jacksonville (FL) Jazz Festival to the Bethlehem (PA) Musikfest to the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland\, held down a three-year house band position at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and performed for actress Julia Roberts’ surprise 35th birthday party. In February of 2018\, Noel released his eighth album\, “Old Devil Moon\,” a collaboration with vocalist Maria Howell.\nIn addition to his work with the NFQ (click here for info)\, Noel performs regularly with the Charlotte Symphony\, both as a featured artist and ensemble member. Noel also performs regularly with touring Broadway shows\, most recently “Jersey Boys\,” “Bring It On\,” “Dream Girls\,” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat\,” “White Christmas\,” “Les Miserable\,” “Wicked\,” and “Beautiful” and as Assistant Music Director for “First Date.” With the NFQ Noel has opened for such diverse artists as Tony Bennett\, David Sanborn\, Kenny G\, Rosemary Clooney\, Dave Brubeck\, vocalist Layla Hathaway\, jazz legend Roy Ayers\, and vocalist Jennifer Holliday. Noel has performed with such diverse artists as Nnenna Freelon\, Frederic Yonnet\, Terry Thornton\, and lyricist Tim Rice (“Evita” “The Lion King”).\nNoel was named Best Jazz Musician by Charlotte Magazine in 2006 and in 2009 and was named “Best Musical Director” by the Metrolina Theatre Association of the Carolinas. A dilettante of pop culture\, Noel has become a popular lecturer for theatres and museums\, creating and presenting multi-media presentations on everything from Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons to Mel Brooks. In 2011 Freidline was chosen for the Blumenthal Performing Arts Association (Charlotte\, NC) Center Stage Award in recognition of his excellence in service to the arts. In May\, 2015 Freidline was inducted into the Jacksonville Jazz Hall of Fame.\nNoel has been a Lecturer in Music at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte since 2006\, teaching such diverse subjects as music business\, the history of rock music\, jazz arranging\, music theory and ear training\, and directing the UNCC jazz combo’s and vocal jazz ensemble.\nFreidline performs monthly as part of the Ziad Jazz Quartet for Jazz at the Bechtler\, a very successful monthly jazz series put on by the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art\, Charlotte\, NC.\nIn August of 2013\, Freidline was brought on as artistic director by the Columbia (SC) Museum of Art to create a jazz concert series. January of 2014 Freidline launched Jazz on Main\, the CMA’s newest concert series\, with the series now regularly selling out.\nIn August of 2012 Freidline launched a contemporary music program at Davidson Day School\, Davidson\, NC. Focusing on teaching contemporary music styles\, this is one of three programs like it in the state of North Carolina.\nNoel is also currently the bandleader at Providence Baptist Church\, Charlotte\, NC.\nAs a composer and arranger\, Noel has written and recorded music for ESPN\, ABC and the Walt Disney Company\, with his most recent work being featured on Monday Night Football\, the NBA All-Star Game\, and SportCenter. A pianist\, vocalist\, writer\, arranger and educator\, Noel has been the leader of his own group since 1991.\nAs the leader of the Noel Freidline Quintet for the last 26 years\, Freidline has recorded 8 CDs\, performed at jazz festivals as diverse as the Jacksonville (FL) Jazz Festival to the Bethlehem (PA) Musikfest to the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland\, held down a three-year house band position at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and performed for actress Julia Roberts’ surprise 35th birthday party. In February of 2018\, Noel released his eighth album\, “Old Devil Moon\,” a collaboration with vocalist Maria Howell.\nIn addition to his work with the NFQ (click here for info)\, Noel performs regularly with the Charlotte Symphony\, both as a featured artist and ensemble member. Noel also performs regularly with touring Broadway shows\, most recently “Jersey Boys\,” “Bring It On\,” “Dream Girls\,” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat\,” “White Christmas\,” “Les Miserable\,” “Wicked\,” and “Beautiful” and as Assistant Music Director for “First Date.” With the NFQ Noel has opened for such diverse artists as Tony Bennett\, David Sanborn\, Kenny G\, Rosemary Clooney\, Dave Brubeck\, vocalist Layla Hathaway\, jazz legend Roy Ayers\, and vocalist Jennifer Holliday. Noel has performed with such diverse artists as Nnenna Freelon\, Frederic Yonnet\, Terry Thornton\, and lyricist Tim Rice (“Evita” “The Lion King”).\nNoel was named Best Jazz Musician by Charlotte Magazine in 2006 and in 2009 and was named “Best Musical Director” by the Metrolina Theatre Association of the Carolinas. A dilettante of pop culture\, Noel has become a popular lecturer for theatres and museums\, creating and presenting multi-media presentations on everything from Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons to Mel Brooks. In 2011 Freidline was chosen for the Blumenthal Performing Arts Association (Charlotte\, NC) Center Stage Award in recognition of his excellence in service to the arts. In May\, 2015 Freidline was inducted into the Jacksonville Jazz Hall of Fame.\nNoel has been a Lecturer in Music at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte since 2006\, teaching such diverse subjects as music business\, the history of rock music\, jazz arranging\, music theory and ear training\, and directing the UNCC jazz combo’s and vocal jazz ensemble.\nFreidline performs monthly as part of the Ziad Jazz Quartet for Jazz at the Bechtler\, a very successful monthly jazz series put on by the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art\, Charlotte\, NC.\nIn August of 2013\, Freidline was brought on as artistic director by the Columbia (SC) Museum of Art to create a jazz concert series. January of 2014 Freidline launched Jazz on Main\, the CMA’s newest concert series\, with the series now regularly selling out.\nIn August of 2012 Freidline launched a contemporary music program at Davidson Day School\, Davidson\, NC. Focusing on teaching contemporary music styles\, this is one of three programs like it in the state of North Carolina.\nNoel is also currently the bandleader at Providence Baptist Church\, Charlotte\, NC.\nAs a composer and arranger\, Noel has written and recorded music for ESPN\, ABC and the Walt Disney Company\, with his most recent work being featured on Monday Night Football\, the NBA All-Star Game\, and SportCenter. DESCRIPTION:No matter who will be sitting in the Oval Office on January 21\, 2021\, they will be confronted with multiple nuclear crises. They will have to make choices that will affect whether we are living in a world in which the number of nuclear weapons is going up or going down. These choices will be related to both internal and external policies. Should we use nuclear weapons first in a crisis? Do we need more than one person involved in the authorization of a nuclear strike? Is it is a good idea to invest in new low-yield nuclear capabilities? Should we reenter what’s left of the Iran Deal? How do we make arms control agreements with Russia when the trust between our nations is broken? \nBell will outline current global nuclear threats and their related policy choices. She will then discuss how the President and Congress can and should respond to those threats. \nAlexandra Bell is the Senior Policy Director at the Center for Arms Control & Non-Proliferation. Her areas of focus include bilateral and multilateral arms control and non-proliferation\, Euro-Atlantic security\, diplomacy\, and Congressional affairs. Previously\, Bell served as a Senior Advisor in the Office of the Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security. Before joining the Department of State in 2010\, she worked on nuclear policy issues at the Ploughshares Fund and the Center for American Progress.

DESCRIPTION:TWO CONCERTS NIGHTLY ~ 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM\n \nDeas Guyz features an entertaining mix of Old Motown\, Rhythm and Blues\, Pop\, Rock\, Reggae and Dance beats. The range of musical selections includes Motown sounds of the Temptations\, The Drifters\, Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye; Bob Marley classics; the Lover’s Rock style of Gregory Isaacs and Dennis Brown; to the Hip-Hop sounds of Lauren Hill and R. Kelly.\nThe band officially formed in January 2000 (as Nu World Beat) and each member adds a rich and experienced musical background to the mix. The artists bring many years of prior experience performing professionally in other bands\, at clubs\, colleges\, and at various festivals and private functions.\nThe band currently performs regularly on Hilton Head Island\, SC\, at The Jazz Corner most Sunday nights. They often travel to other locations such as Pawley’s Island\, Newberry\, Mount Pleasant and Greenville in South Carolina and have ventured to several hot spots in Georgia as well. They have also performed in Chicago\, Orlando\, Las Vegas\, New York\, Knoxville and several other locations all around the US. DESCRIPTION:ONE CONCERT NIGHTLY ~ 6:30 PM\n \nPianist\, composer and arranger\, Martin Lesch takes you on a “Journey Through Jazz” featuring guitarist Jackson Evans\, bassist Marc Chesanow and percussionist Chris Russell.\nMartin Lesch spent most of his young life growing up in New York City where he was raised in a musical family. He was exposed to a wide array of musical influences from a young age but always harbored a deep affection for jazz. After studying with Richard Sorce at NYU through his teens\, he graduated high school early to study at Berklee College of Music before settling back down in New York.\nLured by a ripe music scene for working players\, he transplanted to the Southeast where he currently resides on Hilton Head Island\, SC. After touring and releasing Cd’s with his own band for five years\, he took to producing\, musical directing and accompanying various regional and national acts including a long stint with singer/songwriter Angie Aparo\, for whom his work was widely acclaimed.\nAfter an encounter with one of the southeast’s iconic jazz figures\, Bob Masteller\, Lesch was hired to become a regular player at his club\, The Jazz Corner\, which has now become one of the most regarded venues for jazz musicians in the world. While doing this\, Lesch has still found time to be a featured player on various cruise lines and tours\, including a residency in China with guitarist Jackson Evans where they played their exciting brand of jazz to sold out audiences for 90 straight days.\nHe performs regularly at The Jazz Corner\, including his popular weekly Journey Through Jazz series where Lesch performs a history of jazz retrospective featuring everything from stride to modern piano technique. He also is an active member of the non-profit Junior Jazz Foundation\, which carries out a mission to preserve America’s great art form of jazz by educating children and supplying them with the resources to pursue their talents while also promoting the art form to a larger audience.\n \n \n \n \n \nMUSIC CHARGE: $10.00\nREQUEST A RESERVATION
