DESCRIPTION:A new retrospective exhibition\, “It’s Thursday! Artists of the Round Table\,” will celebrate 15 prominent local artists who gathered weekly at The Red Piano Gallery from the 1970s through 1994 to share ideas and projects that nurtured the island’s growing art community. The exhibit will be on view through March 23\, 2026. \nThe public is invited to the opening reception on Thursday\, November 13\, from 5 to 7 pm. \nThis retrospective brings together approximately 80 works from private collections and new museum acquisitions. The Artists of the Round Table include Aldwyth\, Ralph Ballantine\, Joe Bowler\, Danielle DeMers\, Joe DeMers\, Ray Ellis\, Elizabeth Grant\, Walter Greer\, Tua Hayes\, Katy Hodgman\, Louanne LaRoche\, Allen Palmer\, Marge Parker\, George Plante\, and Coby Whitmore. \nThe museum is offering free curator’s tours of the exhibit on the following dates:\nTuesday\, December 16\, at 1 pm; Thursday\, January 22\, at 1 pm; Tuesday\, February 24\, at 11 am; and Saturday\, March 14\, at 11 am. \n“We are thrilled to present this historically significant exhibition that captures a remarkable time in Hilton Head’s art community\,” said Elizabeth Greenberg\, Director of Exhibitions. “I would have loved to have been at their Thursday meetings and listened to these influential artists talk about their craft.” \nVisitors can see memorabilia\, photographs\, books\, and articles about the artists\, including articles by Theodore F. Wolff\, art critic for The Christian Science Monitor — a favorite of the Round Table. \nAlso on view in the gallery is the original red grand piano\, on loan from artist Louanne LaRoche\, former owner of The Red Piano Gallery\, and the round wooden table where the artists gathered on Thursday mornings. DESCRIPTION:A merry tradition returns to the Lowcountry this holiday season as Art League Gallery transforms once again into a Gallery of Gifts\, filled wall-to-wall with handcrafted artworks and artisan-made gift items created by local member artists. Visitors will find an abundance of unique treasures\, from paintings\, photography\, and pottery to jewelry\, stocking stuffers\, and whimsical holiday décor. \n“Each year we’re delighted to offer holiday shoppers a gallery bursting with creative\, locally made gift options\,” says Kristen McIntosh\, Executive Director. “There’s something special about giving a gift that has been imagined and crafted by the talented artists in our own community. His first single “The Fat Man” is cited by some historians as the first rock and roll single and the first to sell more than 1 million copies. In 1986\, Fats Domino received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and was later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On November 5\, 1998\, at The White House\, he was awarded The National Medal of Arts from then President Bill Clinton. These are some of the countless awards he has been honored to receive over the years.

DESCRIPTION:A merry tradition returns to the Lowcountry this holiday season as Art League Gallery transforms once again into a Gallery of Gifts\, filled wall-to-wall with handcrafted artworks and artisan-made gift items created by local member artists. Visitors will find an abundance of unique treasures\, from paintings\, photography\, and pottery to jewelry\, stocking stuffers\, and whimsical holiday décor. \n“Each year we’re delighted to offer holiday shoppers a gallery bursting with creative\, locally made gift options\,” says Kristen McIntosh\, Executive Director. “There’s something special about giving a gift that has been imagined and crafted by the talented artists in our own community. It’s a meaningful way to support the arts while finding something truly one of a kind.” \nGallery of Gifts will be open November 18–January 3. His first single “The Fat Man” is cited by some historians as the first rock and roll single and the first to sell more than 1 million copies. In 1986\, Fats Domino received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and was later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On November 5\, 1998\, at The White House\, he was awarded The National Medal of Arts from then President Bill Clinton. These are some of the countless awards he has been honored to receive over the years.

SUMMARY:Saleeby and Grant: Sea Turtle Art Show
DESCRIPTION:In honor and support of Sea turtle Patrol Hilton Head Island\, Luke Saleeby and Richard Grant created these works featuring Richard’s iconic heart-shaped turtles.  Luke creates his mosaics using items he finds on the beach\, many of which come from old shipwrecks.  For this show\, Richard used paint to pay homage to Luke’s pieces.  Each piece represents a $100 donation to benefit the Sea Turtle Patrol HHI\, 501c3 nonprofit. \nContact Sea Turtle Patrol with inquires: \nwww.SeaTurtlePatrolHHI.org \nor text 843-338-2716 \nOn display at the Island Recreation Center daily until 1st week of February.

SUMMARY:David Satterfield: The Trump Foreign Policy: A First Year Assessment
DESCRIPTION:The Honorable David M. Satterfield is the director of Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy. He has more than four decades of diplomatic and leadership experience\, including service as special envoy for the Horn of Africa\, assistant secretary of state\, National Security Council staff director and as ambassador to Lebanon and Turkey and charge d’affaires in Iraq and Egypt.  In October\, 2023 he was appointed Presidential Special Envoy for Middle East Humanitarian Issues to lead US diplomacy in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.  In April\, 2024 he stepped down from this role and continues to serve as a Consultant to the Department of State. \nSatterfield’s extensive bilateral and multinational negotiating background most notably includes the 1995 Roadmap for Israel-Palestinian Peace (with the United Nations)\, the 2000 withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces from Lebanon and Blue Line boundary agreement (with the United Nations)\, and the 2008 Status of Forces Agreement between the U.S. and Iraq. As the State Department’s coordinator for Iraq\, he managed the largest domestic staff in the department’s history and directed fundamental reforms to the Foreign Service. \nSatterfield conceived and directed the comprehensive modernization of military and civilian peacekeeping operations and led fundraising efforts with the U.S. Congress and donor governments. \nAmong other honors\, Satterfield is the recipient of the highest Department of State recognition\, the Secretary of State Distinguished Service Award; the highest award for senior federal executives\, the Office of Personnel Management Distinguished Federal Executive Rank Award; and the highest Department of Defense award for career federal civilians\, the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service. \nGuest Policy\nGuests may register in advance for $30 or at the door for $35.
