SUMMARY:Painting on Glass: Magnificent Minis" with Kathy Oda
DESCRIPTION:This fun workshop gives you the chance to play with glass! You will create your own mini glass dishes using glass as your canvas. No painting experience is necessary! This is a fun workshop so bring a friend and create something new! \nOnce you’ve finished your creations\, Kathy will take them to her studio\, fire them in the kiln and then return the finished dishes to the Academy for you to pick up a week later. Students will complete 4 to 5 dishes depending on time. \n\n\nNOTE:\nIn addition to the registration cost\, students should bring $20 cash to pay the instructor for their materials\, which she will provide for you. \nSKILL LEVEL:\nThis workshop is appropriate for students of all levels. \nREFUND POLICY:\nTicket purchases to Art League of Hilton Head events are final. But he stopped taking art classes once he got to high school. After all\, if you wanted to attend a competitive college\, you had to take more practical courses\, such as Latin. \nAfter graduating from Carleton College he attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine. During his career he was a rheumatologist and worked at six medical schools. \nAbout 30 years ago he began painting again\, working with oils. But about twenty years ago he discovered pastels and has not looked back. His work explores nature using color to provide a pleasing emotional response form the viewer. \nOver the last few years Robert’s work has received numerous awards. His paintings can be viewed at the Art League of Hilton Head Gallery and exhibitions of the Hilton Head Plantation Artists Association. \nRobert is a member of the Saxton River Art Guild\, the Pastel Society of New Hampshire and the Pastel Society of South Carolina.
