DESCRIPTION:Join instructor Joan Moreau McKeever for an engaging introductory jewelry-making class focused on creating beautiful dangling earrings. Participants will learn essential techniques including bead selection and earring assembly. With hands-on guidance\, students will design and craft their own unique pairs of earrings to take home. \nNo prior experience is required—just creativity and a love for handmade artistry. \nPLEASE NOTE:\nIn addition to the workshop fee\, students should bring $40 in cash to pay the instructor for materials and use of tools\, all of which will be provided. This materials fee covers supplies for each student to complete two sets of earrings. Those who finish early and wish to create additional pairs may do so for $10 per extra set. \nSKILL LEVEL:\nThis workshop is perfect for beginners\, but those with experience are welcome too! \nREFUND POLICY:\nTicket purchases to Art League of Hilton Head events are final. DESCRIPTION:Art League Academy is pleased to announce a three-day outdoor painting workshop\, “Capture Fall En Plein Air\,” led by acclaimed guest instructor Marc Hanson\, O.P.A.M. The workshop will take place from Friday\, October 31 through Sunday\, November 2\, 2025\, from 10am to 4pm each day at a pre-determined location on Hilton Head Island\, SC. \nDesigned for intermediate and advanced oil and acrylic painters\, this immersive workshop will focus on the essential elements of painting outdoors. Participants will benefit from a combination of lectures\, demonstrations\, and hands-on practice. Instruction will cover foundational concepts such as drawing\, value\, color\, composition\, and edges\, all integrated into the broader concept of effective painting. Individualized guidance will be provided\, with Marc Hanson working closely with each participant at their own level. \nMarc Hanson\, a Master Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America (O.P.A.M.)\, brings decades of experience as a painter and educator. Born in Oxnard\, California\, Hanson’s artistic journey has taken him across the United States and abroad. He studied illustration at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena\, California\, and has exhibited his work nationally and internationally since the early 1980s. Hanson has received multiple Awards of Excellence at the O.P.A. National Exhibit and was awarded the Bronze Medal for Painting at the 2011 OPA National Exhibition. He is also a four-time awardee in The Pastel Journal’s Pastel 100 competition. \nHanson’s teaching philosophy emphasizes helping artists develop their own voice while mastering the principles of representational painting.
