DESCRIPTION:PAINTING ON GLASS: The Triple Dipper Platter \n\n\n\n\nwith Instructor Kathy Oda \n \nThis fun workshop gives you the chance to play with glass! You will create your own triple dipper platter using glass as your canvas. No painting experience is necessary! This is a fun workshop so bring a friend and create something new! \nOnce you’ve finished your creations\, Kathy will take them to her studio\, fire them in the kiln and then return the finished plates to the Academy for you to pick up a week later. \n\n\n  \nNOTE:\nIn addition to the registration cost\, students should bring $20 cash to pay the instructor for their materials\, which she will provide for you. Also\, if students prefer to create an 8″ x 8″ dish instead of the triple dipper\, they can send a special request by email to Academy@ArtLeagueHHI.org at least 7 days prior to the class. \nFinished pieces will be available for pickup on Monday\, July 7\, 2025\, between 10am and 2pm. Out of town guests can arranged to have finished pieces shipped to them at cost. \nSKILL LEVEL:\nThis workshop is appropriate for students of all levels. \nREFUND POLICY:\nTicket purchases to Art League of Hilton Head events are final. DESCRIPTION:WHEN:\n2 HALF-DAYS\nThursday & Friday (10am to 1pm)\nOctober 9 & 10 \n \n\n\nDuring this class\, we will focus on how to create full spectrum compositions. We will use detail to create interest in the foreground and atmospheric perspective to create distance in the background. The object of this course is to learn to paint large enough to allow yourself to loosen up and enjoy the process. \nIt is important to bring a large canvas\, nothing smaller than a 24″ x 30″\, however\, bring one as large as you are comfortable with if you want to bring bigger! You’ll also bring a few photographs you are excited about and would enjoy painting. The object of this class is to paint large to enable yourself to loosen up and not be so fussy over details.
