DESCRIPTION:3 HALF-DAYS\nWednesday to Friday (12:30 to 3:30pm)\nJune 11\, 12\, 13\, 2025 \nExpand your skills with painting the beautiful lowcountry landscape! The class will start with a full painting demonstration. Carol will share her process for blocking in large simple shapes before layering colors. Learn how to capture the beauty that makes the lowcountry so special\, focus on a strong composition\, define values\, establish a point of focus\, and how to see and use color effectively in your paintings. You will also learn how to interpret your own photographs for reference and understand the relationships between value\, color temperature and color intensity. There will be personalized teaching and individualized feedback throughout the day.\nSKILL LEVEL:\nThis class is designed for beginner students\, intermediate students and advanced students. This all-levels class focuses a lot on individual assistance from the instructor\, who can adjust accordingly to each student.REFUND POLICY: \nTicket purchases to Art League of Hilton Head events are final. Credits or Refunds will not be given for missed or classes/workshops.If a class or workshop is canceled by Art League of Hilton Head a full refund will be given. \n\n\n\nMaterials Included:\nNo materials are included in this class\n\n\nRequirements:\nSUPPLY LIST FOR OILS: \nPrintable Supply List Here \nThe following is a list of items that I like to use. You may use whatever materials that you have or prefer. \nThe items in Bold are the most important supplies needed. \nOILS\n(I primarily use a limited palette of Titanium White\, Cadmium Yellow Light\, Yellow Ochre\, Cadmium Red Light\, Alizarin Crimson\, Cerulean Blue\, Ultramarine Blue\, Sap Green or Viridian Green). Depending on the location\, I sometimes add Cadmium Orange\, Manganese Blue Hue or Cobalt Blue. I also use a Permalba White (very soft) and Transparent Red\, Orange or Brown Oxide to tone my surface. \nSmall Sketchbook\n(I use 3.5″ x 5″ Strathmore Sketch) \n(2) Oil Painting Panels or Canvas\n11″ x 14″ or 12″ x 16″ are good sizes. DESCRIPTION:3-WEEKS\nThursdays (1 to 4pm)\nJune 12\, 19\, 26\, 2025 \nJoin instructor Robert Wortmann for this 3-week pastel course designed for those who want to learn about the pastel medium and conquer their fears of painting beautiful landscapes\, seascapes or sunsets. Painting these subjects can be a very satisfying experience. Each class will begin with a demonstration. After with students will create their own work using their own photos or one supplied by the instructor. During that time each student will have individual attention from the instructor. The demonstrations will be done with pastel\, but students may use any other media if they choose. \n\n\nSKILL LEVEL:\nThis class is appropriate for all levels of students.\n\nREFUND POLICY:\nTicket purchases to Art League of Hilton Head events are final.
