SUMMARY:Intro to Clay
DESCRIPTION:Who: Ages 14 through Adult \nWhen: Wednesday (Mornings-10 am) \nStarts: Jan. 22\, Feb. 19 or Mar. 19\, 2025 \nHow Long: 2 hr. classes weekly (3 wks.) \nCost: $125/session includes all materials (clay\, glazes & firings) \nDon’t wait…class size is limited to 8 people for personalized instruction \n\nDon’t know where or how to start? \nHave you always wanted to get your hands dirty but don’t know what to do? \nThe goal of this class is to provide adults with an introduction to our studio. The focus will be a simple 3-week overview with hands-on activities. We’ll review the basic vocabulary relating to clay and the tools used to work with it. We’ll explore basic hand-building techniques\, glazing\, and maybe a turn at throwing on the wheel. Each week will focus on a different aspect of the wonderful world of clay. Our goal is to give you insight into the next step you might want to pursue working with clay. \nClass size is limited to allow individualized attention and to accommodate varying skill levels. If you have “caught the bug” and are ready to keep your hands dirty\, the studio’s schedule has 6-week Beginning Wheel classes and 4-Week Handbuilding classes you can register to attend after the finish of Intro to Clay. \nParticipants should bring their own hand towel for use during class. Class size is limited to 8. The studio has created partitions between wheels for safety precautions.
