DESCRIPTION:Classical Still Life Paintings on Exhibit at Art League Gallery \nCome to the Table: A Celebration of Food and Drink by Denise Liotta DeMarzo \n  \nCome to the Table is an exhibit of over 30 paintings by Denise Liotta DeMarzo\, a lifelong New Yorker who recently relocated to Hilton Head. Denise was a critical care nurse and then an attorney before taking up her lifelong dream of painting. The artwork depicts food and drink and represents her work in the still-life genre. \n  \nThe exhibit showcases representational still-life paintings in the classical style. It features common objects\, mainly food and drink\, including kitchen vignettes with pie ingredients\, sumptuous foods/wine\, fruit arrangements\, and inviting cocktails. The pieces are timeless and are all painted from real set-ups\, not photos. “I strive for a calm mood and beautiful colors\,” says DeMarzo and “…aim to leave room for the viewer’s emotion.” \n  \nDenise studies with Jon deMartin\, a classically trained artist and teacher\, and Todd Casey\, a still-life painter and author\, both renowned in the New York art world.  Her work has been exhibited both locally and in White Plains\, NY. \n  \nAn artist’s demonstration will be held on Friday\, June 23\, 11 am-12 pm. DESCRIPTION:Sea Turtle Art Exhibit at Art League Academy for Three Days Only \nHalfway Home supports Sea Turtle Patrol HHI \n  \nArt League of Hilton Head is partnering with Sea Turtle Patrol HHI\, a nonprofit organization that monitors and supports the nesting and hatching of sea turtles on Hilton Head beaches\, to help raise both awareness and funds for this endangered species. A special three-day exhibit featuring sea turtle-themed artwork created by local artists will be held at Art League Academy July 18-20\, with a closing reception on July 20\, 5-7pm. \n  \n“We named the exhibit Halfway Home because we’ll be right at the halfway point of the sea turtle season\,” says Kristen McIntosh\, Executive Director of Art League of Hilton Head. “The artists have created some beautiful pieces for sale\, and we’re thrilled to be able to help such a worthy cause.” \n  \n“We patrol the beach daily from May through October\, protecting our sea turtle population and educating beachgoers throughout the season\,” says Amber Kuehn\, Sea Turtle Patrol HHI’s Director. “Our volunteer staff depends on the support of the local community.
