SUMMARY:Gullah Celebration Village - 30th Anniversary Experience
DESCRIPTION:In honor of the 30th Anniversary of the Gullah Celebration\, we are proud to partner with the Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival to debut a landmark\, fully immersive Gullah Celebration Village—a living\, breathing tribute to the traditions\, stories\, and artistry of the Gullah Geechee people. This extraordinary activation will be featured inside the festival grounds as a signature cultural experience. \nDesigned by a professional stage production team\, the Village transports guests into a historic Gullah coastal community with full-scale recreations of a schoolhouse\, praise house\, family home\, and shrimp boat dock. Throughout the afternoon\, costumed interpreters\, artisans\, and local storytellers will bring these spaces to life—sharing demonstrations\, daily-life portrayals\, and the heritage that has shaped the Sea Islands for generations. \nAt the heart of the Village\, two of the nation’s most respected voices in Gullah cuisine will take the stage: Chef BJ Dennis\, cultural preservationist and nationally recognized Gullah culinary ambassador\, and Chef Kardea Brown\, Food Network star\, New York Times best-selling author of The Way Home\, and recent Daytime Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Culinary Host and Instructional Series. \nTogether\, Chef Dennis and Chef Brown will lead a powerful live cooking showcase that celebrates authentic Gullah foodways—connecting history\, storytelling\, and flavor in a one-of-a-kind culinary moment. \nGuests can also explore works from Gullah artisans and retailers\, including traditional crafts\, artwork\, and handmade goods that honor Gullah Geechee heritage. \nThis partnership between two beloved Native Island institutions—the Gullah Celebration and the Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival—creates a meaningful platform to elevate cultural awareness\, honor a 30-year legacy\, and welcome the community into a deeper understanding of Gullah Geechee life. \nAdmission\nAccess to the Gullah Celebration Village is included with a Saturday Seafood Festival general admission ticket\, available through the Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival. Rain or shine\, we celebrate—and we invite you to be part of this historic anniversary experience. \n\n\n\n\n\nTickets

SUMMARY:Kris Tokarski Quartet PRESENTS: The Jazz Age - Celebrating Jazz Visionaries of the 1920s - Jelly Roll Morton\, Louis Armstrong\, Red Nichols and More...
DESCRIPTION:Show Ticket $25 \nDinner is required with all reservations. \n*6:30 PM SHOW – DINNER RESERVATIONS FROM 5:15 PM \n*9:00 PM SHOW – DINNER RESERVATIONS FROM 8:00 PM \nKris Tokarski – Piano \nAndy Schumm – Cornet\, Trumpet\, Clarinet \nMike Davis – Trumpet\, Trombone\, Vocals \nRiley Baker – Drums \n“Tokarski knows how to swing and stride — with both hands — and his playing is fluid\, supple — never stiff. His accompaniment is the very definition of sweet teamwork\, and his solos are full of surprises: you can’t tell where he is about to land\, but it’s graceful and satisfying when he does.” – Michael Steinman ( Jazz Lives) \nIn 2011\, Tokarski moved to New Orleans to complete a master’s degree at the University of New Orleans. Shortly after moving to the “Cradle of Jazz” he embraced the early piano traditions of the city as well as those of the early New York and Chicago masters. A keen interest in the music of Jelly Roll Morton\, James P. Johnson\, Earl Hines and Teddy Wilson; combined with his bebop roots allowed Tokarski to develop an all encompassing voice of his own\, deeply rooted in the jazz piano tradition. \nAndy Schumm is a cornetist\, pianist\, and arranger specializing in the jazz and popular music styles of the 1920s. Schumm is a multi-instrumentalist\, composer\, and arranger originally from Wisconsin. As a member of the Chicago-based band\, the Cellar Boys\, you can hear him play cornet\, clarinet\, and saxophone. Andy has appeared all over the traditional jazz world\, both domestically and internationally. He is also an avid student of the history of jazz. \n“Eloquent trumpet prodigy” Mike Davis (Wall Street Journal) has a voice beyond his years on his instrument. His playing is imbued with the sounds of prohibition-era speakeasies\, Hoovervilles of the depression\, and glittering jazz palaces of the swing era\, creating a timeless cocktail of American music. \nRiley Baker is a highly accomplished young Jazz multi-instrumentalist (drums\, tuba\, trombone\, bass) known for his deep roots in traditional jazz\, playing professionally from age 12 with his father\, Clint Baker\, and appearing with prominent Bay Area groups like The Hot Baked Goods\, while also studying at CSUN\, showcasing prodigious talent and versatility in both swinging ensembles and youth orchestras
