DESCRIPTION:Show Ticket $30 \nDinner is required with all reservations. \n*6:30 PM SHOW – DINNER RESERVATIONS FROM 5:15 PM \n*9:00 PM SHOW – DINNER RESERVATIONS FROM 8:00 PM \nJoe Gransden’s “The Good Life” \nA Musical Tribute to the Artistry of Tony Bennett! \nJoin Joe and his band as they take you on a swingin’ stroll through the life and career of Tony Bennett! \nOne of the greatest performers ever of the American Songbook\, Tony Bennett’s tone\, phrasing and feel were second to none! \nA Must See…! \n“I love listening to Joe perform because he has a marvelous connection with the music he plays and sings. His innate understanding of interpreting classics is something that you can’t learn\, it’s natural. He is a great musician!” – Michael Feinstein \nJoe Gransden performs worldwide and has released 14 CDs under his own name. Renowned first for the hard bop approach of his trumpet\, Gransden’s singing voice has been compared to that of Chet Baker and Frank Sinatra. “When I first heard Joe nine years ago\, I immediately thought of Chet\,” says Jazziz magazine critic James Rozzi\, “but lately his voice has taken on its own style with a deeper resonance. His trumpet has always alternated lyricism with an aggressive\, angular approach. He has the ability to cover the gamut of emotions.” Joe is from just north of Manhattan\, New York. Coming from a family full of musicians\, Joe’s introduction to music came early on through his father\, a gifted singer and pianist. His grandfather was a trumpeter of merit\, playing professionally his whole life throughout New York. On his mother’s side of the family was the piano virtuoso Carmen Cavallero.

One would not guess that this is a man hailed by greats; Ramsey Lewis describes his music as “happy music with tasty meat on the bones\,” Les McCann states “Joe’s on a ‘blow your mind’ level\,” and Ahmad Jamal calls him “a very special artist.” Journalist Nat Hentoff championed three of Alterman’s albums\, as well as his writing (Joe wrote liner notes to three Wynton Marsalis/JLCO albums)\, calling one of Joe’s columns “one of the very best pieces on the essence of jazz\, the spirit of jazz\, that I’ve ever read\, and I’m not exaggerating.” \nJoe Alterman began at NYU with a BA and Masters in Jazz Piano from NYU and has since performed at many world renowned venues including the Kennedy Center\, Lincoln Center\, Birdland and Blue Note alongside Houston Person\, Les McCann\, Dick Gregory\, Ramsey Lewis\, and his own trio\, among others. Downbeat describes his sound as “rooted in the blues\, and with a touch reminiscent of the great pianists of the 1950s—Red Garland\, Ahmad Jamal\, Bill Evans.” It is clear Joe hits all of the necessary points for Jazz critics and fans alike. \nBut there is more to the story\, of course. The 21st century has brought another transition for this thing called jazz; in one moment we see the push and pull between tradition and progression\, and in another we see Pop and Hip-Hop musicians emulating and sampling. In Joe Alterman we find none of this struggle; the music just sounds good. Our conscious faculties are instantly disabled as we tap our feet\, feeling the intent and joy of his playing. An old classic is new when you feel good in the moment. Or\, as Hentoff wrote about Alterman in the Wall Street Journal\, “Alterman’s continually evolving presence on the jazz scene surely makes people smile and\, if the room is right\, dance. There’ll be no need for any last rites of jazz.”

SUMMARY:Noel Freidline & Maria Howell present: YOU MAKE MY DREAMS COME TRUE - A Jazz Celebration of Daryl Hall & John Oates
DESCRIPTION:Show Ticket $30 \nDinner is required with all reservations. \n*6:30 PM SHOW – DINNER RESERVATIONS FROM 5:15 PM \n*9:00 PM SHOW – DINNER RESERVATIONS FROM 8:00 PM \nWith clever writing\, catchy hooks\, Daryl Hall and John Oates have it all. Join Noel Freidline & Maria Howell and their stellar band as they take a deep dive into this influential duo\, reinterpreting their music with the same “left-of-center” approach that Hall & Oates employed to become one of the most sampled and impactful artists today. Expect to hear re-imagined classics such as “Maneater” “You Make My Dreams (Come True)” “Rich Girl” “She’s Gone” and many more. Daryl Hall & John Oates. The top selling duo in music history. Nine #1 hits. Ten Top 10 hits. 40 million records. Play their greatest hits and don’t be surprised if you know EVERY SONG! Driven by Daryl Hall’s blue-eyed soul vocals\, Hall & Oates were the bridge from 70’s to 80’s pop as well as one of the most successful cross-over groups\, scoring numerous #1 R&B hits. Mere words can only capture the refrain of MARIA HOWELL’s awesome talent. She is the ballad of beauty and elegance. The melodies flowing from the petite vocalist are truly amazing. While casting a spellbinding smile\, she mesmerizes her captive audience with incredible harmonies and rhythms. Best known for her role as the choir soloist in the 1985 Oscar-nominated film The Color Purple\, Maria Howell is the perfect combination of artistry and entertainment. AS AN ACTOR\, she has appeared in hit TV shows such as Lifetime’s\, “Army Wives”\, and Marc Cherry’s\, “Devious Maids”. Eric Kripke and J.J. Abrams’ apocalyptic\, “Revolution”\, and “Aquarius”\, starring X-Files’ David Duchuvny\, both on NBC\, and “Criminal Minds”\, alongside Joe Mantegna. Theatrical credits include\, “The Blind Side”\, “Addicted”\, starring Sharon Leal and Boris Kodjoe\, “Hunger Games: Catching Fire”\, as Seeder\, and “Christmas Wedding Baby”\, by Award-Winning Writer/Director Kiara C. Jones. She also stars in Writer/Director\, Shea Sizemore’s “The Next Day.” In addition\, she recurs in Bounce TV’s\, “Saints & Sinners” as Lt. Hawkins\, and as Ms. Sumner is the Oscar nominated film\, “Hidden Figures”. A SONG STYLIST in her own right\, Maria has shared the musical stage with such legendary artists as Nancy Wilson\, George Benson\, Ray Charles and Earl Klugh\, and Ronnie Laws. After a very successful 6 year stint in Asia\, Maria relocated back to the U.S. and performed at Sambuca Jazz Café for 9 consecutive years. She and pianist Bill Wilson (son of legendary jazz pianist Teddy Wilson)\, held the distinction of being the longest running act at the Atlanta\, GA location. As of 2017\, Maria hosts her live Hollywood music series called #DUETS\, featuring “songs to soothe your soul.” Maria is not only a song stylist and actor\, but a very devoted supporter of her charity of choice\, Students Without Mothers\, where she has served as a board member for over 8 years. As the leader of the Noel Freidline Quintet for the last 26 years\, Freidline has recorded 8 CDs\, performed at jazz festivals as diverse as the Jacksonville (FL) Jazz Festival to the Bethlehem (PA) Musikfest to the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland\, served as artistic director for the Columbia Museum of Art jazz concert series\, Jazz on Main\, launched a new jazz concert series in Jacksonville\, FL called Jazz with Noel Freidline and Friends\, held down a three-year house band position at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and performed for actress Julia Roberts’ surprise 35th birthday party.

SUMMARY:Daline & Diego at The Jazz Corner
DESCRIPTION:Show Ticket $25 \nDinner is required with all reservations. \n*6:30 PM SHOW – DINNER RESERVATIONS FROM 5:15 PM \n*9:00 PM SHOW – DINNER RESERVATIONS FROM 8:00 PM \nNew York City and Mexico City are coming to Hilton Head Island\, returning to The Jazz Corner! The international duo\, vocalist Daline Jones and pianist Diego Ramirez\, will mesmerize you with their music that mixes Jazz with American and Latin flavors. Their motto is to “play music that makes you feel good”. Enjoy Daline and Diego at The Jazz Corner! Daline Jones and Diego Ramirez have played together for more than 17 years. While they spend most of the year performing for the crowds in the world-famous resorts of Cabo San Lucas\, Mexico\, the Duo has played internationally as well\, in the US and Europe. They were specail invited guests at the 2024 Copenhagen Jazz Festival. They are known for their polished musicality and for their friendliness with the audience. Daline’s voice has been compared to Adele\, Natalie Cole\, and Diana Krall\, because her voice has power and sparkle\, plus a soft\, sultry coolness. Yet\, one listen will tell you Daline’s voice is completely her own. Her style is classy and polished\, warm and welcoming. Her voice says\, “Come in\, stay awhile\, let’s enjoy this.” She makes her audience feel like they are long time friends. Her singing and songwriting chops are the legacy of her famous Beat-poet father\, Jazz surrealist\, Ted Joans. He must have known she would be an artist\, naming her after his fellow Surrealist\, Salvador Dali. Ted made sure Daline spent her early years listening to\, and seeing live Jazz in the clubs of their native New York City. After NYC\, Daline lived near Detroit\, MI\, and the Motown sound added to her musical education. That smart\, fortunate exposure to Jazz and R&B when she was so young\, lead her to pursue a life in music\, and now her experience onstage makes her a relaxed professional.
