SUMMARY:Jason Marsalis VIBES Quartet Presents the Ellis Marsalis Songbook
DESCRIPTION:Show Ticket $25 – $30 \nDinner is required with all reservations. \n*6:30 PM SHOW – DINNER RESERVATIONS FROM 5:15 PM  (SOLD OUT) \n*9:00 PM SHOW – DINNER RESERVATIONS FROM 8:00 PM \nJason Marsalis VIBES Quartet Presents the Ellis Marsalis Songbook \n“His playing is eccentric within graceful boundaries\, concerned with polyrhythm as science\, history and gamesmanship\, full of technique used to non-slick ends… Discipline and strategy are written deeply into the band.” – The New York Times \nFrom New Orleans’ legendary first family of jazz comes the youngest Marsalis brother—Jason Marsalis—an extraordinary drummer and vibraphonist. The son of pianist and educator Ellis Marsalis\, Jason grew up surrounded by the sounds of jazz greatness\, performing alongside his father and brothers before he was even a teenager. In 2009\, the Marsalis Family received the nation’s highest jazz honor\, the NEA Jazz Masters Award\, and celebrated with a special performance at the White House and the Kennedy Center\, captured on the album Music Redeems. Today\, Jason channels that legacy through his acclaimed Vibraphone Quartet\, blending the elegance of Ellis’ influence with his own daring\, modern swing. \nWith dazzling four-mallet mastery\, deep New Orleans roots\, and an unstoppable rhythmic drive\, Jason Marsalis brings Ellis’ spirit to life on stage. His tribute is as soulful as it is joyful—an electrifying mix of tradition\, innovation\, and heartfelt connection. Every note honors his father’s enduring influence\, while proving that the Marsalis family story is still very much alive and swinging.
