SUMMARY:Deliberately Unpredictable\, a new exhibition by Art Beyond Tradition group
DESCRIPTION:Art Beyond Tradition Group Returns to the Coastal Discovery Museum for Biennial Exhibit \nThe Coastal Discovery Museum\, a Smithsonian Affiliate\, will present Deliberately Unpredictable\, a new exhibition by the Art Beyond Tradition Group.  This biennial show features 12 Lowcountry abstract artists working in various media\, including painting\, collage\, encaustic\, sculpture\, mixed media\, and ink.  Admission is free. \nThe public is invited to attend an opening reception on Thursday\, September 11\, from 5 to 7 pm. A gallery walk with participating artists will take place on Thursday\, September 25\, at 11 am. \nThe Coastal Discovery Museum has hosted several exhibitions by the Art Beyond Tradition Group\, most recently the 2022 show Interpretations. Formed in 2006\, the group was created by a handful of local artists seeking to bring more attention to abstract art in the Lowcountry. \n“This show brings together artists who work independently yet share a commitment to experimenting to push the boundaries of the ordinary\,” said Elizabeth Greenberg\, Director of Exhibitions at the Coastal Discovery Museum. \nParticipating artists in Deliberately Unpredictable include:\nCindy Chiappetta\, Arla Wible\, Vickie Jourdan\, Sharon Licata\, Mark Larkin\, Margaret Crawford\, Jo Dye\, Earline Allen\, Donna Varner\, Joanna Chalson\, John Crum\, and Linda Tully. \nThe Museum gallery is open Monday through Saturday\, 9 am to 4:30 pm\, and Sunday\, 11 am to 4:30 pm.

These include concerts by award-winning visiting musical performers\, mesmerizing and inspiring theatrical productions\, unique museum and gallery exhibitions\, behind-the-scenes artist studio tours\, enlightening lectures\, film screenings\, inspiring poetry readings\, captivating dance performances\, historical tours\, hands-on arts experiences\, educational offerings\, and cultural festivals. \nEach year\, we honor the Kick-Off of Crescendo at a celebration! Join us!! \nTuesday\, Oct. 14 (4:30-7:30 p.m.): The annual Crescendo kick-off celebration at Shelter Cove Community Park will feature live music\, performances\, and exhibitions by local artists and cultural organizations. \nDozens of local arts vendors\, organizations\, and not for profits on site. \nScheduled performances by From Away (Arts Center of Coastal Carolina)\, Mary Poppins (Hilton Head Prep)\, Hilton Head Dance Theater\, and more! \nThis year\, we are excited to present Nashville songwriter and performing artist Phoenix Mendoza as our headliner.
