SUMMARY:Art League Studio Tour: Step Inside the Studios of Hilton Head's Artists
DESCRIPTION:Art League Studio Tour: Step Inside the Studios of Hilton Head’s Artists\nNovember event invites the public to explore the island’s vibrant creative spaces \nArt League of Hilton Head announces the return of its Studio Tour\, a one-day\, self-guided event offering an exclusive glimpse into the creative spaces of over 20 local artists. Taking place on Saturday\, November 8\, 2025\, the tour invites the public to meet the artists\, view their creative processes firsthand\, and experience the island’s artistic energy up close. Tour-goers will have an exclusive opportunity to buy directly from the artist at each studio. \nSpanning nine stops across Hilton Head Island\, the Studio Tour includes visits to five private home studios\, two commercial studios as well as the Art League Academy at 106 Cordillo Parkway and the Art League Gallery at 14 Shelter Cove Lane—both of which will house multiple working artists. Participants will discover a wide range of media\, including painting\, pottery\, jewelry\, fused glass\, basket weaving\, quilting\, and leatherwork. \n“It’s about more than seeing the final artwork. This is a rare opportunity for art lovers and curious visitors alike to engage directly with the artists in their own creative spaces\,” says Rebecca Jeffries\, Studio Tour team member. \nThe event marks a revival of a beloved tradition first launched in 1977\, when the Art League hosted its inaugural Studio Tour featuring renowned Lowcountry artists such as Ray Ellis\, Walter Greer\, Joe Bowler\, and Coby Whitmore. Nearly five decades later\, the League hopes to make the tour a biannual celebration of the island’s thriving arts community. \nTickets will go on sale to the public on August 1. Tickets for the tour are $50 per person\, with advance registration required. All proceeds benefit Art League of Hilton Head Academy’s Capital Improvement Campaign. \n  \nLearn more at https://studiotour.artleaguehhi.org/. \n  \nWHAT:\nArt League of Hilton Head’s Studio Tour \nWHEN:\nSaturday\, November 8\, 2025\, from 10am-4pm \nWHERE:\nNine locations including five home studios\, two commercial spaces\, Art League Academy and Art League Gallery.

SUMMARY:Art Beyond Limitations & Expectations
DESCRIPTION:Bringing together vibrant creativity and fearless experimentation\, Full Spectrum Studio’s exhibition Art Beyond Limitations & Expectations (ABLE) celebrates the work of Lowcountry artists with disabilities. On view November 11–15\, 2025\, this group show highlights the bold individuality of each artist\, offering works that range from whimsical ceramics and joyful abstractions to expressive mixed media pieces. Collectively\, the exhibition invites audiences to see beyond disability and into the full spectrum of artistic possibility. \nFounded in 2020 by Victoria Bramson and Cat McDermott\, Full Spectrum Studio is the only progressive art studio in South Carolina dedicated to artists with intellectual\, physical\, and developmental disabilities. The studio provides a supportive\, collaborative environment where participants are free to experiment with materials and techniques\, from clay and paint to fibers and found objects. Each work reflects a deeply personal perspective\, rooted in both play and perseverance\, and together they form a compelling testament to the power of inclusive creativity. \n“Every piece in this show speaks to the freedom of expression\,” says co-founder Victoria Bramson. “Our artists aren’t confined by rules or limitations—they are redefining what art can be.”\nFull Spectrum Studio has already made a name for itself within the Lowcountry arts community\, hosting monthly open studios and building partnerships with local organizations. With ABLE\, their artists take center stage\, demonstrating not only their talents but also the broader importance of accessible and inclusive art spaces. \nAn opening reception will be held Wednesday\, November 12\, from 5–7pm. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. \n

SUMMARY:It's Thursday! Artists of the Round Table
DESCRIPTION:A new retrospective exhibition\, “It’s Thursday! Artists of the Round Table\,” will celebrate 15 prominent local artists who gathered weekly at The Red Piano Gallery from the 1970s through 1994 to share ideas and projects that nurtured the island’s growing art community. The exhibit will be on view through March 23\, 2026. \nThe public is invited to the opening reception on Thursday\, November 13\, from 5 to 7 pm. \nThis retrospective brings together approximately 80 works from private collections and new museum acquisitions. The Artists of the Round Table include Aldwyth\, Ralph Ballantine\, Joe Bowler\, Danielle DeMers\, Joe DeMers\, Ray Ellis\, Elizabeth Grant\, Walter Greer\, Tua Hayes\, Katy Hodgman\, Louanne LaRoche\, Allen Palmer\, Marge Parker\, George Plante\, and Coby Whitmore. \nThe museum is offering free curator’s tours of the exhibit on the following dates:\nTuesday\, December 16\, at 1 pm; Thursday\, January 22\, at 1 pm; Tuesday\, February 24\, at 11 am; and Saturday\, March 14\, at 11 am. \n“We are thrilled to present this historically significant exhibition that captures a remarkable time in Hilton Head’s art community\,” said Elizabeth Greenberg\, Director of Exhibitions. “I would have loved to have been at their Thursday meetings and listened to these influential artists talk about their craft.” \nVisitors can see memorabilia\, photographs\, books\, and articles about the artists\, including articles by Theodore F. Wolff\, art critic for The Christian Science Monitor — a favorite of the Round Table. \nAlso on view in the gallery is the original red grand piano\, on loan from artist Louanne LaRoche\, former owner of The Red Piano Gallery\, and the round wooden table where the artists gathered on Thursday mornings. The table was donated to the museum last year. \n“At 25\, I was just a kid stepping into the world of the Round Table’s legendary artists\,” said LaRoche. “They took me under their wings\, teaching\, inspiring\, and supporting me. Their voices still echo in spirit today\, as I continue to feel and hear their thoughts challenging me to be a better artist. I am so grateful to be a part of this exhibit that can pay tribute to their legacy.”
