SUMMARY:Beyond The See: A New Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Artistic imagination takes center stage as the Artists of Sea Pines unveil their first exhibition of 2026\, Beyond the See. The public is warmly invited to an opening reception on January 28\, from 4:30–6:30 PM\, at the Sea Pines Community Center\, 71 Lighthouse Road. Guests will enjoy complimentary refreshments and live music performed by The Sharp 5. \n Beyond the “See” honors the spirit of our island community—its beauty\, its stories\, and the limitless visions it inspires. This exhibition marks the third creative collaboration between the Artists of Sea Pines and the artists of Hilton Head Plantation. More than 70 new works will be on view and available for purchase throughout the show’s run\, continuing through April 24\, 2026. A portion of every sale will benefit the Sea Pines Forest Preserve\, supporting the natural spaces that inspire so much of the artwork. \n This year’s Spotlight Artist\, Margaret Cutter\, will present a special collection of her work in a dedicated showcase. Cutter—an award-winning and widely collected artist—has been featured in galleries in Charleston\, Bluffton\, New York\, and Cleveland. Her piece Somebody’s Dream Boat is among the highlights of the exhibition. \n The Artists of Sea Pines Gallery is located within the Sea Pines Community Center\, adjacent to the fitness center\, at 71 Lighthouse Road in the Shops of Sea Pines.

The exhibition brings together bold visual voices including Amiri Farris\, Ren Dillard\, and other gifted Gullah Geechee artists whose work honors memory\, land\, and community.\nSet within the inviting ambience of J Costello Gallery\, the exhibition explores essential aspects of Gullah Geechee life—land ownership and property\, environmental conservation\, foodways\, language\, tradition\, song\, praise\, and ancestral wisdom. Through layered mixed media\, symbolism\, and expressive mark-making\, the artists transform lived history into contemporary visual narratives. \nFeatured artist Amiri Farris is honored to present newly created works alongside a retrospective selection of earlier pieces\, offering audiences a rare look at artwork created throughout the many years of the Gullah Celebration. SUMMARY:Saleeby and Grant: Sea Turtle Art Show
DESCRIPTION:In honor and support of Sea turtle Patrol Hilton Head Island\, Luke Saleeby and Richard Grant created these works featuring Richard’s iconic heart-shaped turtles.  Luke creates his mosaics using items he finds on the beach\, many of which come from old shipwrecks.  For this show\, Richard used paint to pay homage to Luke’s pieces.  Each piece represents a $100 donation to benefit the Sea Turtle Patrol HHI\, 501c3 nonprofit. \nContact Sea Turtle Patrol with inquires: \nwww.SeaTurtlePatrolHHI.org \nor text 843-338-2716 \nOn display at the Island Recreation Center daily until 1st week of March.

Artists of the Round Table\,” will celebrate 15 prominent local artists who gathered weekly at The Red Piano Gallery from the 1970s through 1994 to share ideas and projects that nurtured the island’s growing art community. The exhibit will be on view through March 23\, 2026. \nThe public is invited to the opening reception on Thursday\, November 13\, from 5 to 7 pm. \nThis retrospective brings together approximately 80 works from private collections and new museum acquisitions. The Artists of the Round Table include Aldwyth\, Ralph Ballantine\, Joe Bowler\, Danielle DeMers\, Joe DeMers\, Ray Ellis\, Elizabeth Grant\, Walter Greer\, Tua Hayes\, Katy Hodgman\, Louanne LaRoche\, Allen Palmer\, Marge Parker\, George Plante\, and Coby Whitmore. \nThe museum is offering free curator’s tours of the exhibit on the following dates:\nTuesday\, December 16\, at 1 pm; Thursday\, January 22\, at 1 pm; Tuesday\, February 24\, at 11 am; and Saturday\, March 14\, at 11 am. \n“We are thrilled to present this historically significant exhibition that captures a remarkable time in Hilton Head’s art community\,” said Elizabeth Greenberg\, Director of Exhibitions. “I would have loved to have been at their Thursday meetings and listened to these influential artists talk about their craft.” \nVisitors can see memorabilia\, photographs\, books\, and articles about the artists\, including articles by Theodore F. Wolff\, art critic for The Christian Science Monitor — a favorite of the Round Table. \nAlso on view in the gallery is the original red grand piano\, on loan from artist Louanne LaRoche\, former owner of The Red Piano Gallery\, and the round wooden table where the artists gathered on Thursday mornings. The table was donated to the museum last year. \n“At 25\, I was just a kid stepping into the world of the Round Table’s legendary artists\,” said LaRoche. “They took me under their wings\, teaching\, inspiring\, and supporting me. Their voices still echo in spirit today\, as I continue to feel and hear their thoughts challenging me to be a better artist. I am so grateful to be a part of this exhibit that can pay tribute to their legacy.”

DESCRIPTION:A new retrospective exhibition\, “It’s Thursday! Artists of the Round Table\,” will celebrate 15 prominent local artists who gathered weekly at The Red Piano Gallery from the 1970s through 1994 to share ideas and projects that nurtured the island’s growing art community. The exhibit will be on view through March 23\, 2026. \nThe public is invited to the opening reception on Thursday\, November 13\, from 5 to 7 pm. \nThis retrospective brings together approximately 80 works from private collections and new museum acquisitions. The Artists of the Round Table include Aldwyth\, Ralph Ballantine\, Joe Bowler\, Danielle DeMers\, Joe DeMers\, Ray Ellis\, Elizabeth Grant\, Walter Greer\, Tua Hayes\, Katy Hodgman\, Louanne LaRoche\, Allen Palmer\, Marge Parker\, George Plante\, and Coby Whitmore. \nThe museum is offering free curator’s tours of the exhibit on the following dates:\nTuesday\, December 16\, at 1 pm; Thursday\, January 22\, at 1 pm; Tuesday\, February 24\, at 11 am; and Saturday\, March 14\, at 11 am. \n“We are thrilled to present this historically significant exhibition that captures a remarkable time in Hilton Head’s art community\,” said Elizabeth Greenberg\, Director of Exhibitions. “I would have loved to have been at their Thursday meetings and listened to these influential artists talk about their craft.” \nVisitors can see memorabilia\, photographs\, books\, and articles about the artists\, including articles by Theodore F. Wolff\, art critic for The Christian Science Monitor — a favorite of the Round Table. \nAlso on view in the gallery is the original red grand piano\, on loan from artist Louanne LaRoche\, former owner of The Red Piano Gallery\, and the round wooden table where the artists gathered on Thursday mornings. The table was donated to the museum last year. \n“At 25\, I was just a kid stepping into the world of the Round Table’s legendary artists\,” said LaRoche. “They took me under their wings\, teaching\, inspiring\, and supporting me. Their voices still echo in spirit today\, as I continue to feel and hear their thoughts challenging me to be a better artist. DESCRIPTION:Art League of Hilton Head will present Secret Gardens of the Low Country\, a lush and immersive exhibit featuring paintings in acrylic paint\, charcoal\, watercolor and mixed media by acclaimed artist Judy Blahut. The exhibit will be on view March 3 through April 3 at Art League Gallery\, with an opening reception on Wednesday\, March 4\, from 5–7 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. \nInspired by the layered beauty of the Lowcountry landscape\, Blahut’s work invites viewers into intimate garden spaces both cultivated and wild\, where color\, movement\, and light intertwine. Drawing influence from artists such as Henri Matisse and Georgia O’Keeffe\, Blahut’s paintings balance expressive color with fractured forms\, distilling nature to its essential forms and emotional resonance. \nTo help viewers better understand her work\, Blahut is holding an in-depth artist talk on Wednesday\, March 11\, 10:30-11:30am\, and an artist demo on Wednesday\, March 18\, 10:30-11:30am. Both events are free and open to the public. \n“I want to draw the viewer to the incredible flora that is everywhere on our island. Everything from a home garden to the maritime forest and the seaside dunes\,” says Blahut. “I love the tangled mess that happens in the understory of a planted environment. My paintings are about the movement of the plants and the way that light ignites the colors. I believe it is a life skill to see the beauty in the mess.” \nFormally trained with a BFA from Syracuse University\, Blahut has been painting nearly her entire life. Though her subject matter has evolved over the years\, her distinctive style remains constant\, an expressive visual language shaped by observation\, emotion\, and a lifelong devotion to painting. \n

SUMMARY:Secret Gardens of the Low Country: Paintings by Judy Blahut
DESCRIPTION:Art League of Hilton Head will present Secret Gardens of the Low Country\, a lush and immersive exhibit featuring paintings in acrylic paint\, charcoal\, watercolor and mixed media by acclaimed artist Judy Blahut. The exhibit will be on view March 3 through April 3 at Art League Gallery\, with an opening reception on Wednesday\, March 4\, from 5–7 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. \nInspired by the layered beauty of the Lowcountry landscape\, Blahut’s work invites viewers into intimate garden spaces both cultivated and wild\, where color\, movement\, and light intertwine. Drawing influence from artists such as Henri Matisse and Georgia O’Keeffe\, Blahut’s paintings balance expressive color with fractured forms\, distilling nature to its essential forms and emotional resonance. \nTo help viewers better understand her work\, Blahut is holding an in-depth artist talk on Wednesday\, March 11\, 10:30-11:30am\, and an artist demo on Wednesday\, March 18\, 10:30-11:30am. Both events are free and open to the public. \n“I want to draw the viewer to the incredible flora that is everywhere on our island. Everything from a home garden to the maritime forest and the seaside dunes\,” says Blahut. “I love the tangled mess that happens in the understory of a planted environment. My paintings are about the movement of the plants and the way that light ignites the colors. I believe it is a life skill to see the beauty in the mess.” \nFormally trained with a BFA from Syracuse University\, Blahut has been painting nearly her entire life. Though her subject matter has evolved over the years\, her distinctive style remains constant\, an expressive visual language shaped by observation\, emotion\, and a lifelong devotion to painting. \n

DESCRIPTION:A new retrospective exhibition\, “It’s Thursday! Artists of the Round Table\,” will celebrate 15 prominent local artists who gathered weekly at The Red Piano Gallery from the 1970s through 1994 to share ideas and projects that nurtured the island’s growing art community. The exhibit will be on view through March 23\, 2026. \nThe public is invited to the opening reception on Thursday\, November 13\, from 5 to 7 pm. \nThis retrospective brings together approximately 80 works from private collections and new museum acquisitions. The Artists of the Round Table include Aldwyth\, Ralph Ballantine\, Joe Bowler\, Danielle DeMers\, Joe DeMers\, Ray Ellis\, Elizabeth Grant\, Walter Greer\, Tua Hayes\, Katy Hodgman\, Louanne LaRoche\, Allen Palmer\, Marge Parker\, George Plante\, and Coby Whitmore. \nThe museum is offering free curator’s tours of the exhibit on the following dates:\nTuesday\, December 16\, at 1 pm; Thursday\, January 22\, at 1 pm; Tuesday\, February 24\, at 11 am; and Saturday\, March 14\, at 11 am. \n“We are thrilled to present this historically significant exhibition that captures a remarkable time in Hilton Head’s art community\,” said Elizabeth Greenberg\, Director of Exhibitions. “I would have loved to have been at their Thursday meetings and listened to these influential artists talk about their craft.” \nVisitors can see memorabilia\, photographs\, books\, and articles about the artists\, including articles by Theodore F. Wolff\, art critic for The Christian Science Monitor — a favorite of the Round Table. \nAlso on view in the gallery is the original red grand piano\, on loan from artist Louanne LaRoche\, former owner of The Red Piano Gallery\, and the round wooden table where the artists gathered on Thursday mornings. The table was donated to the museum last year. \n“At 25\, I was just a kid stepping into the world of the Round Table’s legendary artists\,” said LaRoche. “They took me under their wings\, teaching\, inspiring\, and supporting me. Their voices still echo in spirit today\, as I continue to feel and hear their thoughts challenging me to be a better artist. I am so grateful to be a part of this exhibit that can pay tribute to their legacy.”
