Dinner With Friends by Donald Margulies will be presented at Sea Glass Stage at Coligny Theatre Oct. 4-20, offering a heartwarming yet poignant play about the complexities of friendship, marriage, and the ties that bind.

Food writers Gabe and Karen are entertaining their friend Beth for dinner, sharing the tiniest of details about their recent trip to Italy. Tom, Beth’s husband, is absent and she is a bit distracted. The two couples have been best friends since Gabe and Karen introduced Beth and Tom 12 years prior.

When Beth bursts into tears and blurts out the news that Tom is leaving her for another woman, Gabe and Karen are aghast and full of questions: Who is it? Do we know her? Are you going to seek counseling? Are you getting a divorce? What about their annual vacation to Martha’s Vineyard? What will happen to “us”?

Directed by Mark Erickson, president and co-founder of Sea Glass Stage Company, the cast includes Christopher Hoffer as Gabe, Jennifer Blumenthal as Karen, Jessica Walck as Beth, and Michael Murray as Tom. Hoffer previously appeared at Sea Glass Stage as Uncle Louie in Lost in Yonkers. Blumenthal, Walck, and Murray are all experienced actors making their debut at Sea Glass Stage.
