CraftHiltonHead2022, Art League’s 8th Juried Fine Art Craft Exhibition, will showcase 2- and 3-dimensional fine art craft that encompass exemplary creativity, experimentation and imagination. Artists from across the Southeast will compete for cash awards totaling over $3,000.
“This exhibit only occurs once every two years. You won’t want to miss it,” says Kristen McIntosh, Art League General Manager. “This is a juried show, so the quality of the pieces is exceptional. We are very fortunate to be able to showcase such talent from all over the Southeast right here on Hilton Head.”
The judge will be Joanna Angell. Joanna is a fourth-generation artist working in ceramics, printmaking, drawing and painting.
Joanna holds a BA in English from Drew University and an MFA in Printmaking from the University of Georgia where she studied lithography with Tamarind printmaker Charles Morgan and ceramics with Ron Meyers. She continues to study in various workshops at the Penland School of Crafts. Her ceramics, prints and paintings are in numerous private and corporate collections including the President’s collection at the University of Georgia. She has participated in a number of juried exhibitions, winning merit and purchase awards for her work, and was three times included in the traveling exhibit Palmetto Hands. She has received several scholarships to the Penland School of Crafts and continues to serve as a crew chief for Penland’s Annual Benefit Auction.
Joanna’s ceramic work is represented in the Telfair Museums’ Jepson Center Store and Kobo Gallery in Savannah, Georgia.
This exclusive presentation of a wide variety of imaginative crafts will be on display and for sale October 4 – November 12, 2022. An awards reception will be held Wednesday, October 5, 5-7pm.
