In the most basic of terms, I paint water using fire. I am an encaustic wax artist painting primarily large scale pieces both as commissions and to sell through galleries. Using liquified, pigmented wax, I paint on a wooden substrate using torches, irons and carving tools to achieve a translucent yet highly textured piece of art.
My work has been featured in several magazines, on a wine bottle, a CD label, and maybe someday on a wall in your home! I have artwork installed in homes and businesses representing over 40 states.
I have painted 6’ custom beach scenes and many Lowcountry Marsh paintings, all in oils.
I am also the volunteer coordinator for First Thursday Art Market at the Shops at Sea Pines Center. You are welcome to schedule a visit to my studio in Sea Pines. I have painted live at quite a few local events.
