LeAnn Kalita fulfilled a life-long desire to paint when she began her art study in 1996. She has been passionate about painting ever since.

LeAnn is not a "quiet" painter - she uses color and paint lavishly, achieving her vivid luminescent hues by glazing numerous layers until she achieves her desired effect. She works in both transparent watercolor and acrylic paints.

For many years, large scale florals had been LeAnn’s signature work, but most recently, she has received recognition for her watercolor portraits. Her portrait work, which includes children, adults, pets, and homes, reflects her own recognizable style, with each one capturing the individual beauty and personalit yof the subject, and recording "a moment in time" of a family's history.

LeAnn’s works have been juried into a variety of international, national and regional exhibits receiving assorted awards including numerous “Best in Show”. Her paintings have been selected by the U.S. Dept. of State to be exhibited in United States embassies in Africa and Central America, she was a featured artist in the U.S. Dept. of State 2012 calendar, Homage to American Women Artists, and she is included in the 2007 edition of Best of America – Watercolor Artists & Artisans.

LeAnn resides in Hilton Head Island, SC where she enjoys capturing the beauty of the Lowcountry in her paintings. She also teaches the various aspects of watercolor; private instruction and group classes are available for all levels.
