Established in 1986, the Hilton Head Dance Theatre strives to promote dance as an art form on Hilton Head Island and throughout the Lowcountry. Serving as Artistic Directors throughout the organizationās history are Karena Brock-Carlyle, former Principal Dancer of the American Ballet Theatre, and her husband, John Carlyle. The impressive repertoire of the Dance Theatre includes the holiday classic, The Nutcracker as well as Giselle, CoppĆ©lia, Don Quixote, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland and Swan Lake. The Dance Theatre has also brought many professional companies to our area including the Orlando Ballet, the Atlanta Ballet, the Miami City Ballet, Dance Through Time and Stars of the American Ballet Theatre. The Hilton Head Dance School is the official school of the Hilton Head Dance Theatre.
