Tony Burns – Visual Artist

Tony Burns is a self-taught artist who began painting as a personal challenge. But what started as a hobby has blown up in his face into a part time job. From local galleries to art shows to paint parties to live paintings, and now enough commission work to fill a calendar year and he is just getting started and scratching the surface.

Born in Beaufort South Carolina in 1973, Burns discovered his passion for art early in his childhood, but it wasn’t until three years ago when he decided to take it seriously. Self-taught he paints in the medium of acrylics and oils to capture past and modern images of African American culture.

Burns also owns and operates Major League Barbershop in Bluffton, South Carolina where he also teaches as a barber instructor. He sells mostly all of his original work on his social media platforms including Facebook @ Tony Burns and Instagram @ tbdef.
